Personal Statement

To keep it short and sweet, I have a 4.9 weighted GPA and my main goal this year is to raise it up to a 5.0 by the end of the semester. I am enrolled into all honors and 3 AP classes. When I'm not studying I'm at practice, or working out, or training. I know the importance of balancing athletics and academics. The only thing that I want more than to play Division I hockey at a Selective/Most Selective school, is to play in the NHL. I'd like to take the college hockey route as a way to get there. And I WILL get there.

Training

  • Summer Training
  • 1 year
  • Over the pass year, I have been doing intense training over the summer with professional fitness coaches and hockey coaches. It's an hour on-ice which is focused on skills. Then an hour and a half off-ice which is used to manipulate on-ice situations and motions, and strengthen them. I do this 4 times a week for 2 months of the summer.
  • Heartland Hokcey Camp
  • 2 years
  • Over the past two years, I have attended a AAA level hockey camp in Minnesota which is run by former NHLer, Steve Jensen. This camp is 5 hours of on-ice training a day, and 2 hours of dryland which increases our muscle strength and stamina everyday. The camp is 6 days long. AAA athletes from all over the world attend this camp. There are kids from Russia, Czech, and Canada. Some examples of hockey clubs whose players attend this camp are: Little Caesars, the Jr. Kings, the Jr. Blues, the Colorado Thunderbirds, and many more.
  • Summer Training
  • 4 years
  • I have taken every summer for the past 4 years as an opportunity to get better. I have trained by myself everyday in order to continually be better than the players around me. I know that if I work harder than everyone, which I do, than I will be better than anyone.

Additional Sports

  • Golf
  • 4 years
  • Freshman Team
  • I play golf casually but I am playing on my high school's team.
