Hi I'm Benton Walshaw, and my ultimate goal is to play hockey at the highest level possible for as long as I can. I make a great candidate for your team because I’m deeply committed to both my academics and the sport, and I believe my leadership, work ethic, and ability to think critically under pressure would be an asset to your team. As the captain of two teams, I’ve learned how to lead by example, support my teammates and push them to perform at their best. On the ice, my strengths are my work ethic, defensive skills, and the ability to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations. One of my proudest moments was competing in the state finals against Fairfield Prep last season, where I was able to stay composed and lead my team through an intense game. Academically, I maintain a 3.8 GPA and have been a multi-honor roll student. I’m also OSHA certified, which has taught me valuable lessons in attention to detail and safety. I know how to balance my commitments and manage my time effectively. What sets me apart is my passion for hockey—it’s what drives me every day. I’m highly coachable, always looking for ways to improve, and dedicated to doing whatever it takes to help the team succeed.
