Hockey has been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. I began to skate at the age of four and was on my first travel team at five. I started playing AAA hockey when I was ten with the Chicago Young Americans and was fortunate enough to be on teams which reached the top 5, 3, and 1st place ranking in the country. I had the privilege to participate in the “Quebec Tournament” which showcased the best players in the world. While given this opportunity, I proved that I could play at the level and succeed. I currently play for the Milwaukee Jr. Admirals 16U AAA team and was my team’s leading scorer last season along with being ranked #11 in the Tier 1 Elite League.
As a Chicago teenager, the AAA rigorous hockey regiment is a way to build discipline and a tool to advance my education. I attend Disney II Magnet High School and am a bilingual honor roll student who is fluent in Spanish. My schedule consists of three practices a week and games or tournaments on the weekends. I also do my best to give back to my community by participating at events for the Chicago Park District and with activities in the 33rd Ward where I live in Chicago.
Balancing the rigor of a magnet school curriculum along with a AAA hockey schedule is challenging, however the goal of attending college and the opportunity to play hockey at that level is my dream.
