Personal Statement
After graduating from The Winchendon School in June, 2016, I’m spending the year playing junior hockey with the Connecticut Jr. Rangers Premier (#14) hockey club under the direction of coach & Pro Scout, Vinnie Montalbano ([email protected] or 978-807-3783). The Rangers play in the Premier division of the USPHL, the top junior league on the East Coast, and provide the highest level of competition.
At Winchendon, I was a solid honor roll student achieving a 3.92 GPA for my last semester. I was also 2nd on the team in goals (13) and was awarded the Lady Byng award after my senior season for sportsmanship combined with a high standard of playing ability. I’m currently 6’ 2” and 190lbs and play left wing. My date of birth is: December 12, 1996. My strengths as a hockey player are my skating, scoring, passing, play making ability and leadership. Here is what one of my coaches recently said about me:
“Matthew has excellent hockey ability. His work ethic was the best on our team and I feel he will be captain material on certain teams. His potential leadership ability is big. Matthew works very hard in practices and in games. He plays hard in all 3 zones and competes. He is a pleasure to coach and makes any team stronger with his character.” Bernie Cassell - New York Islanders Skating and Skills Development Coach. Head Coach of '96 Team Massachusetts ([email protected])
My goal is to play college hockey at a great school where I can get a quality education. If you need to contact me for information or about a game, my information is below. Thank you.
