sofia berisha '23 Recruiting Profile

I would like to introduce myself.  My name is Sofia Berisha, and I will be a Senior this fall, at The Winchendon School in MA.  I am  a 5'10 point / shooting guard. I have been playing basketball since first grade and soccer from first through eighth grade. I started playing on an all boys' team in the first grade with my brother, who is a year older,  due to a lack of girls programs in northern New Jersey.  From that moment on, I fell in love with the game of basketball.  Throughout the years, it has taught me many things such as hard work, perseverance, leadership, and most of all, the importance of a positive mental attitude regardless of the circumstances.

I believe that a strong academic focus is a priority.  My cumulative GPA is 3.9.  In addition to sports, I paint, draw, play piano & guitar, and sing.    I have taken several Portfolio Art courses and will take AP Art in the fall.  I have had several piano recitals and I am now taking voice lessons. I believe it is very important to combine academics, athletics, and the arts in our lives. 

I am playing with Sarah Behn's DB Gladiators. I believe that leadership and a winning mentality is crucial.  

My goal is to play high level basketball in college and major in Business / Finance with a concentration in the Arts.  My long-term goal is to become a Hedge Fund Manager.  I am looking forward to growing and evolving as a person and player at a competitive school.
