I began playing hockey at the age of seven and immediately fell in love with the sport. I've played defense for the past nine years, including the last three at the varsity level for Gabriel Richard Catholic High School in Riverview. This past summer I was moved to a right wing spot where I had alot of success. I immediately embraced the change and believe it's allowed me to be a greater asset to my team in a variety of game-type situations while also making me a more versatile and confident player. I absolutely love the physical play found in front of the net.
I have always considered myself to be an really coachable player and one of the hardest workers on my team. I believe that each time I step on the ice, I must be ready to give my absolute best and have done so over the years. I think it's important to practice like you intend to play.
I have tried to show the same work ethic in the classroom as I do on the ice, working hard to get the best grades I can. I have even challenged myself with some honors classes and handled them well. I believe my grade point average at my college prep school speaks volumes.
I think being in the best physical shape I can be and being a multi-sport athlete are both really important and help improve my hockey game. I’m in the gym multiple times a week to increase my strength, conditioning and cardio. I’ve played recreation baseball for over eight years and this past year I played varsity football and varsity golf for my high school.
I have always dreamed of playing hockey at the collegiate level and intend to pursue a career in sports management. I am open minded to all options and believe that I have the work ethic and abilities on and off the ice to be a positive impact for any school and hockey program.
