Matthew Walz '22 Recruiting Profile

I have enjoyed hockey since the first time I stepped onto the ice at 3 years old. However, having grown up in North Dakota we were not given many opportunities to advance given the demographic and level of hockey played in the western part of the state.  Since moving to the State of Hockey 6 years ago, I have had the privilege of playing on AAA teams and given the opportunity these past few years to work in a hockey facility training and coaching all age groups in the sport I am passionate about.  I also am a referee which has given me such perspective on and off the ice on how to be a better player and teammate.   I am a dedicated student and pay attention to my education all the time, but also have a very good work ethic and strive to be a better and stronger individual mentally and physically each and every day on and off the ice.  I am willing to do whatever it takes and to work my hardest to be a better athlete and student and give 100% to my teammates.
