Personal Statement

I've been interested in collegiate level sports, and academics for a very long time. I've been shown many different paths to pursue a career in hockey, such as OHL,  and U sports in Canada, but the level, and intensity of collegiate level hockey, as well as its game style,  has really sparked my interest over the years. It would be a dream come true for me to play hockey at the collegiate level while pursuing my academic passions as well. I feel as if I'm a great candidate for a team, as well as that I'm different from other recruits because of my work ethic, not only in sports but in academics as well. I've competed against the best of the best of my age group, as I participated in the Philadelphia World Selects tournament in 2018, and competing in my league all star game. I also have the experience of winning a championship, as my team won the OMHA championship in 2017, giving me the experience of winning, and getting to a championship. I feel as if other recruits choose to focus on either the sports side of things, or the academic side of things, but I feel I do a good job in managing my time to be able to do both. I also feel as if I'm different due to the fact that I have experience playing in other sports at high levels, which has dramatically improved my hockey game. I feel as if soccer has helped me keep calm in pressure situations, and it has improved my vision and my ability to give breakout passes through small lanes, and to see where players are going before they move. Finally, I' been known to be a classy, disciplined player, and person, helping me stay well-liked by teammates and coaches. I think my ability to stay calm, my skating ability, and my ability to move pucks quickly and through lanes has helped me resemble a great example of a defenceman in this day and age of hockey.

By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
