Aidan Briggs '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Aidan Briggs ‘23. I currently play for Pittsburgh Esmark Stars U16 AAA tier 1 and Canon McMillan Varsity.

I was invited to play for the Pittsburgh Esmark Stars team for the 2021-22 year as a left-handed center/forward. Prior to that, I played for Pittsburgh Predators as a left-handed defensemen. I made team as a center/forward but the coach needed me as a defense as we lost a player just prior to the start of the season. In fact, I have never played the position for which I made the team. Every year since squirt minor, I have been asked to play the opposite position (forward or defense) to help the team.  I have even dressed as backup for goalie.  In 2019, I attended Gilmour Academy and played on the U16 AAA team as a 14 year old, starting the season on defense and finishing the season as center to aid with scoring.  I played for the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite for five years between squirt minor through Bantam.

I have also played Varsity AAA for the past two seasons (2020-22).  I am currently Alternate Captain.  In 2020-21 season, I was named to the All Star team and awarded play-maker for the year leading the team in scoring. 

I have been fortunate to play in a number of national and international tournaments over the years including the Pee-Wee Quebec International (2018) and both Hockey Night in Boston (2019) and Chowder Cup (2021).

I am a three sport athlete, playing both varsity and club lacrosse for 7 years, and varsity golf (2021).  .  

My goal is to play collegiate hockey. If you are looking for a skilled two-way player that will give a 100% effort, I am the man for you.
