I have been playing hockey since I was 4 years old and have always had a strong passion for the sport. I have always had aspirations to play at a high level of hockey. Hockey has been an important part of my life. It has taught me many important life skills. Hockey has taught me how to be a good teammate and how to work with others. It has taught me how to have a positive attitude even when times are tough, with a win or a loss. Hockey has helped me stay focused in school and in life by providing me a positive physical outlet to help me maintain focus. During stressful times, hockey has been a consistent positive outlet for me.
I continually want to learn how to improve my game. I take practices and off-ice training seriously, and realize it is just as important to put forth the effort in practices as it is in games.
This year my teammates chose me as one of three captains for our Tier 1 hockey team. Two of the last three years, I have been chosen to be one of five players born in 2007, from the State of Utah, to go to the USA Hockey Western Regional Development Camp. At the camps, I was provided the experience to play at a higher level of hockey and learn what is needed to get to the next level.
Last year, I played my first year of high school hockey and was chosen to play at the Utah State All Star Game. I was a member of the Utah State Independent Division 2 Championship team and traveled to Minnesota to play at the High School National Championships. I earned the USA Hockey Playmaker patch for my Tier 2 and High School teams.
