Personal Statement
When I first began to play hockey and I stepped on the ice at the age of 5, I fell in love and decided that I wanted to play this sport for the rest of my life. I played in South Carolina for 6 to 7 years, and you would think to yourself, what, South Carolina? There are a total of 3 ice rinks in the entire state and I was lucky enough to grow up 15 minutes from one. Then I moved to Vermont where I now have played, for 4 years. Currently, I play for Essex High Hornets located in Essex, Vermont.
At the rink, I consider myself to be a team leader who tries to lead by example whilst encouraging my teammates. I work my butt off every time I train whether that be at the rink or off-ice training. I would strive not only to be the most talented guy but the hardest working guy there, and to make sure that nobody would ever train or work as hard as I would or ever will.
In the classroom, I try to work as hard as I can to raise my GPA. Outside the classroom, I come home to train and study to try to help further my game and raise my grades.
In closing, I would like to attend a college or university where I can both push myself on and off the ice. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match with the highest level of competition possible.
