Personal Statement
I have only been playing lacrosse for 5 years but have relentlessly dedicated myself to becoming one of the top high school lacrosse defense players in the state of Maryland, as evidenced by my selection as a finalist for the Maryland Free State 44 all-star team that beat the Virginia All-State team in June 2014, witnessed by many college lacrosse coaching staffs. Further, I have been invited to compete for a roster spot on the Under Armour Underclass All-America tournament on July 3-5, 2015 at Towson Univ, MD.
I have led by example throughout my school years with character and service. I have proven these qualities by consistently obtaining good grades and will continue to strive for good grades in college. As for character, I have shown it through my classroom, sports and community involvement experiences and also while living overseas with my family in New Zealand. The certain qualities that make me a good leader are my inviting, open personality and empathy for others, especially with those students from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds. I am a strong leader both in the classroom and on the sports field. I show politeness and respect to teachers and friendliness to students around me. I have the qualities to be a productive leader in society. I feel that it is necessary for me to further my career interests in college so I can strengthen and further heighten my leadership skills and character qualities. A well-rounded college education will make me better able to contribute to my community and unlock and learn other positive leadership and character building attributes.
