My name is Steven Reddy and I have been playing lacrosse since 3rd grade. I have played every position on the field of lacrosse, this gives me great knowledge of the field. My play style is greatly influenced by football, which I play in the fall. My positive attitude and sportsmanship along with my competitiveness allows me to be a beneficial player in the game of lacrosse.
During my sophomore season, I was one of three sophomores to make the varsity team. I earned my starting position early on and started every game of the season (except the senior game). I played lots of midfield and defense throughout the season and was an influential member of our team. The Concord Monitor highlighted me as a key player in many of our games. After finishing the season, I was selected for second team all-state.
During my junior season, I was chosen to be a varsity captain and lead our defense. We have just finished our regular season with a record of 12-2. I am hopeful for this post-season, as we are the number 2 seed.
"Steven stepped up for the Hawks in a big way this season. He made an impression during tryouts and earned a spot on the Varsity squad. As a Sophomore and first year Varsity player, there were several Varsity defensemen with seniority over him, but he quickly showed that he was a top player for us. We consistently matched Steven against our opponents' best players, and he did a stellar job of stopping them in their tracks. He was a force in transition, creating many fast breaks, scooping groundballs, and turning the tide in our favor as a faceoff wing at LSM. On top of his outstanding performance in terms of stick skills and athleticism, Steven is a leader amongst his peers. He motivates those around him to play better both by being vocal and leading by example. He is also very attentive during practices and games, exhibits critical thinking and good instincts, and listens to the lessons offered by his coaches and teammates. I have received similar reports from his football coach and school staff, indicating he maintains these good habits in all his endeavors. Steven has a bright future as a Lacrosse player and I look forward to helping him develop over the next two seasons."
