Personal Statement
My name is Michael Cook and I am lacrosse player. I believe lacrosse is not just a sport, it is a way of life. Lacrosse has taught me more about life than many other things I have experienced so far. It has taught me that discipline combined with consistency is unstoppable, and that the only limit to myself is myself. Everyday I strive to be better than the day before, and I continually push myself harder than many of those around me, because I know that in order to outwork my opponent, I must do things that they aren't willing to do. I take pride in my faith and I know that I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, and Jesus is a big part in who I am as a person and as a player. He has blessed me to be in the position I am in today, and that is working towards playing college lacrosse. My education is very important to me as well. I continually push myself in the classroom by being disciplined with my time and asking questions until I understand the concept being taught. I believe education is equally or even more important than playing lacrosse, but lacrosse is a lot more fun. I take pride in my work ethic and I know that I am never done growing and learning, so therefore I will never stop striving to better myself. I know that playing college lacrosse will not come easy, but I am willing to put the work in so that when I walk on the field with my teammates, we are more than prepared to out work our opponents.
