Tristan Wachtel '25 Recruiting Profile

I was born in Ethiopia and came home with my father to the United States when I was 9 months old. From that moment on, my father has been, as he puts it my number one fan. It was his love of sports that allowed me to experience almost every sport out there. Although I excelled in most and enjoyed all of them, lacrosse quickly became my passion. The basic skills of catching, passing, scooping, and cradling came easy to me. What captured and held my interest was the lacrosse IQ skills I developed and have come to excel in. I scan the field with a situational understanding that grants me the ability to make fast and accurate decisions which I quickly and loudly share with my fellow defensive men. My teammates and coaches have come to rely on me as a leader. I plan to continue to develop my leadership skills on and off the field throughout my high school and college years.
