I have been playing lacrosse since I was seven years old. As a freshman I started on my varsity high school team and most recently, in my junior year, was selected by my teammates and coaches to be a captain. My goal is to obtain an invaluable college education while also hopefully having an opportunity to keep playing the sport I have loved since first putting a stick in my hands at the age of seven.
Playing sports throughout my childhood has provided many lessons that I use to this day. Through grade school and middle school, I played football, basketball and baseball. I have learned the value of being on a team and working hard on and off the field. On the field I think that one of my best attributes is being a team player who enjoys when my friends and teammates succeed aside from any of my own accomplishments. One of the best compliments I have ever received as a lacrosse player was from a former coach who praised the fact that I was just as happy to see a teammate score during a game and was one of the first to congratulate them.
Those same ideals help me at school and at home. My parents have always encouraged me to the best that I can in everything that I do but most importantly to be successful in the classroom. Because of those things, I have done well in an academically demanding school which has provided a strong foundation to succeed in furthering my education.
