I have played football since I was 5 years old but was introduced to lacrosse 4 years ago. I love the game - so much so that I quit football (much to the chagrin of my football coaches and even though I was a starter and it was my senior year). I wanted to focus all my energy into lacrosse and intend to go to as many tournaments and showcases as I can this summer. My ultimate goal is to play lacrosse when I go to college. I already know that I want to study business and marketing.
I believe that one of my greatest strengths is my "coachability". I am willing to do the work, am grateful for constructive criticism and feedback on how I can get better, and am a respectful southern boy at heart. I will ALWAYS say "Yes Sir" when I address you. I have always had great relationships with my coaches and play my heart out for them and my team mates. I have been told I am a natural leader and have been captain of my team since I was sophomore. I am very proud that this year my coaches unanimously voted me as season MVP.
I am ranked 1st in TN and 8th in the nation for face offs - this year I have averaged 23 face offs a game and have 81% face off win. I am also 1st in TN and 8th in the nation for ground balls/game. I am a smart but aggressive player. I am multidimensional and am also good at offense. Last year I had 45 goals but this year our coach wanted to feed our attack to get the goals. I have averaged 2 goals a game this year.
I had ACL surgery last fall and worked hard at my recovery. I was cleared the eve of my first game of the season. My surgeon says my knee is stronger than before and I have had no discomfort. He is willing to talk to you if you have any questions. I always wear my brace (the sleeve you may see on my video is just to protect my skin when I kneel for face offs), stretch, take ice baths, and take care of my body. Nutrition is very important to me. A quirky thing my friends know about me is that I haven't drank soda since I was 13 and learned it wasn't good for me!
I am active in my church youth group, volunteer with the Alzheimer's Association in memory of my great grandmother, and enjoy working with our middle school players. I am friendly, loyal and popular in school. I like challenges but wish I had take school more seriously in my freshman and sophomore year. My grades are better this year because I am finally putting in the effort I should have been exerting all along.
I hope you will consider me and would love to talk to you more about how I might help your team.
