I am hard working, coachable, and have a need to help my team in any way I can. I was a varsity lacrosse team captain as a sophomore, and have a determination to increase my own and my teammates skills. I lettered as a freshman and sophomore; I plan on continuing this trend through my remaining high school years. My freshman year we played an entire 16 game season with 13 total players on the team, most of them being freshman. Sophomore was not much better but the freshman did have another year under their belts. I was selected as Second Team All-State defensive player as a sophomore, and am not satisfied. Freshman & Sophomore year I played for the Utah Military Academy High School team. Currently I play for Weber High School, and Utah Summit Lacrosse.
When it comes to education, I take it very seriously. It is a high priority, and I show that through my work. I have taken and enjoyed senior English electives as a sophomore and currently as a junior, I will later be enrolled in criminal justice, communications and history of art as concurrent enrollment classes.
I am a two-sport student athlete, I am a three-year varsity defensive end for Ben Lomond High School. I lettered my freshman and sophomore year, and do not expect those to be my last.
Off the field I had volunteered my time in teaching martial arts to all ages of students.
One of my strongest traits is loyalty to those that have helped me get where I am; I have followed a coach who believes in culture change, not only changing losing attitudes to winning attitudes, but also believes in building character and better people. I believed in him so much that I had a strong desire to be a leader in making this change and I wanted to be part of the culture change. I have helped in teaching and coaching underclassman to become better as players and people. Upperclassman helping & encouraging underclassman has changed the culture of the school by implementing a winning TEAM mentality; I have been a part of the change.
Results of this are reflected in our team numbers. We have gone from a total of team enrollment in the twenties to over 70 players in two years.
I would like to continue my student athlete career beyond high school. It is my desire to gain a higher education and continue to play the sport I love.
I believe that my high moral character, my heart, my work ethic, and most of all loyalty to my family, friends and teams make me an exceptional asset to any program.
