Personal Statement

I love soccer, and my goal is to play at the highest level possible.  I believe that my work ethic, attitude, and defensive abilities are my strengths. I have a winning-spirit and always leave everything on the field, whether it is training or games. I play as a defensive midfielder, center-back, or attacking midfielder. My short stature does not stop me from being effective, and I am always willing to play anywhere and give my best for the team. I have learned life lessons through soccer, and it has shaped who I am. It has taught me perseverance, teamwork, and hard work. I have been privileged to have such great mentors like my parents, coaches, teachers, and counselors. I have always had the support of my parents in doing what I enjoy. My coaches have helped me develop as a player. At my school, Jefferson County International Baccalaureate, my teachers have challenged me academically, but also taught me how to be a proper citizen and person of the community. I have been taught to be an open-minded, a risk-taker, and a principled individual. My goal in college is to grow academically, athletically, and as a person. I also want to be successful with my team and graduate with a degree.
