Hi my name is Seth Whitman. I’m a defending midfielder with attacking abilities. I have been playing soccer for 12 years. I fell in love with soccer around the age of 8 years old. I loved the thrill of the competitive nature of the game as well as the teamwork and camaraderie needed to make my team as efficient as possible. Soccer means a lot to me. To me it is more than just a game. It is a lifestyle. Due to most of my family being enrolled in the military I have grown up to be a very disciplined and high standard person for myself and for my fellow team mates. I would like to think that I am a good leader. Many of the underclassmen at my high school look up to me, and even the upperclassmen always saw me as a leader and somebody to take seriously. I love to make friends and I believe in that way I have become a good leader. As a player I believe that I bring to the game an immense amount of defensive reinforcement. I have always been physically aggressive when it comes to defending. I am known to keep a clear head though and I am able to keep my cool under the worst of pressure. As an attacking midfielder I love to play ticky-tacky soccer. Quick passes that wear out the opposing team. I am consistent and accurate with both of my feet when it comes to crossing, chipping, and simple ground passes. I believe that as an attacking mid I am able to connect all of the players on the field so that the team as a whole can benefit. Academics are just as important to me as athletics. I have a 3.8 GPA as of right now and hope to receive above or at a 4.0 by the end of my senior year of high school. As far as where my interests lay in school I have always been an exceptional writer and I love to read. I have received many awards for academic excellence including the President’s Award which is an award based off of my GPA being a 3.5 or higher. I am included in many clubs and community service projects including Honor Society, Key Club, Race for the Cure and Christmas Alliance. Outside of soccer I also am a part of the Varsity Speech and Debate team in Cabot. I compete in speech and debate competitions across the state which I also believe increases my positive attributes as a leader and an orator. I look forward to working with coaches and trying to find the right place for me. Thank you for considering me and I hope to work with you in the future.
