I am a currently Senior at Bishop O’Dowd High School (BOD) in Oakland, California and will graduate in 2021. My last semester's current weighted GPA is 4.33. I recently took and passed my Honor classes in the following subjects - Pre-Calculus, Chemistry and Spanish and will be taking AP Calculus and AP Physics in my senior year. I am an active member of the California Scholarship Federation, Campus Ministry Team, Student Council Representative and BOD’s School Ambassador. During the summer, I am an intern at an Architecture Firm and volunteer as a “junior” Soccer Coach with my current soccer club.
I’ve been mostly a member of East Bay United Soccer Club - Bay Oaks (EBU) since I was 8 years old. I was part of the EBU-Bay Oaks Academy program from 2016-17 and successfully transitioned to the San Jose Earthquake's Academy (SJE) program 2017-18. I wanted to play in high school so played with San Jose Earthquakes PDA program 2018-19. When playing with my high school, Bishop O'Dowd, I started and played all the games as a center back. Our team, has won NCS CIF Division that last two years. I recently went back with EBU playing up with the 2001-2002 NPL1 team (I am a 2003 player) coached by the club's DOC, Marco Plascencia and have started all the games as well.
At SJE and EBU, I was lucky enough to play on defense as center, as well as left and right back. I believe I have a high soccer IQ. I am able to read the game really well and stay involved off and on the ball. I always try to consistently make an impact during game and/or practices. I can communicate effectively with my teammates. Finally, I am able to adapt to the coach’s tactical game plan. I will study, learn and master my role and responsibility as a field player.
I am excited about the upcoming 2020 fall season with my 02/03 NPL1 team. I know I have been working very hard as Coach Marco has acknowledge my effort and contribution so far. I am very interested in a great college soccer program where I feel that I can contribute right away as an incoming freshman. My main aspiration in college is to either study Architecture or Engineering and hopefully, compete and play in a successful college soccer program.
