I have been a competitive soccer player since I was 8 and I started playing soccer at 5. I joined FC Heat in Escondido and stayed committed to the same team and coach, like a family, until last season. Covid made our season difficult and the team kind of fell apart. My High School Varsity coach recommended I check out SDSC Surf and I joined their ECNL team, it's been great so far! Even a couple of my old teammates have joined as welI. I was one of two freshmen to make the JV team at San Pasqual High School and I play varsity now, our soccer program is very competitive, we are in the D1/Open Division. We took second in the San Diego Open Division last season, losing in PKS. It's been great to be back on the field! I am planning to play soccer in college, because it's a huge part of my life. My early start as a soccer player has formed me into a very team-oriented person. I am aware of the benefits that different skills, strengths, interest, perceptions, and values bring to strengthen the bonds of a team, a community, or a nation. To play well, and to succeed, we must all care about each other’s success, physically and mentally. I take care of myself both mentally and physically and I care about the wellbeing of all my teammates, as I do of my family. Being the oldest child in our family and the only boy gives me particular responsibilities, I am realizing. My increasing awareness of the interconnectedness of families, teams, communities, and nations is leading me to an interest in studying Social and Behavioral Sciences, such as psychology and Business.
During Covid I was able to achieve a 4.0 which I am very proud of. This year we are back in person full time, I am taking AP Economics, AP Government, Sociology, Welding and I'm finishing my second semester of Chemistry (Independent online) that I started at the end of last year. Once I finish I plan to add on another class. This past summer I also took AP Human Geography.
I was in a Spanish Bilingual program in Elementary school and have continued to study Spanish in High School starting with Spanish 2 as a Freshman and Spanish 3 as a Sophomore. This experience really shaped a big part of who I am as a person. I've held a summer job both summers at an organic farm in Escondido. I love to spend time with my family, skateboard, play soccer and listen to music of all sorts.
I'm interested in being a good human myself and having a life that is fulfilling while being financially secure and making a difference in the world.
