Personal Statement
I knew I wanted to play competitive soccer as early as 9 years old, when I already realized soccer was my greatest passion and that I excelled at the game. I worked hard at growing as a center attacking midfielder since, becoming the #10 starter for my club team, then high school team along with being chosen for PDP and ODP programs during the past 6 years and even being identified twice to play with Dinamo Zagreb in Croatia. My second time, I actually lived in Croatia while playing for 3 months and attended school there.
In an article on my time at Dinamo Zagreb, my coach Jasko Begovic described me in the following way “Alex is a footballer, not a soccer player. A footballer is attracted to the ball and the game in a very special way. They see the game differently like artists or craftsmen. They study nuances of the game and celebrate the game when they play. A footballer lives the game. Alex Is skillful and creative, which make him an attacking midfielder or playmaker for our team. Alex is a magician”.
I’ve been a key contributor in helping my California Magic club team rise to #7 in Cal North and 48th in the nation and my high school team win the DFAL league and NCS championship. I was also recently invited to the ODP Region IV ID camp in Idaho July 5-9. I lead my team by example with my energy and all out play-style.
