Owen Purvis '24 Recruiting Profile

My name is Owen Purvis and I am a 6'6" 185 lb goalkeeper. As a Junior, I was the 2022-2023 MVP and starting GK for the D1 CIF and State Champion Point Loma High School Men's Soccer team.  I was awarded the best Goalkeeper throughout all of San Diego making ALL-CIF first team. Throughout the 20 games I played, I had 113 saves and only allowed 14 goals. I kept a clean sheet throughout all of playoffs saving 2 PK's as well. Some of my main strengths on the field are my shot-stopping ability, crossing, and distribution. I am very coachable and work extremely hard to be the best player I can be.

Last summer I played in the SuperCupNI tournament in Northern Ireland with the 2006 Surf Select National Team. It was an amazing experience. I have come back with more knowledge about the game, which I can use to help my team on the field.

I take pride in being a role model on the pitch and in the classroom. I train year-round while trying to get in 2 private sessions per week and going to play on the weekends, in addition to my club team training. In my Junior year, I ended 1st semester with a 4.0 WGPA and 2nd semester with a 4.33 WGPA

I want to attend a college where I can push myself on the field and inside the classroom and be a valuable contributor to my team’s success.
