Ethan Heller '23 Recruiting Profile

When the ECNL Boys Club Competition announced in March that Parkland Soccer Club (founded 2015) was only one of six teams in the nation to be added during the 2022-2023 season this marked the culmination of my athletic career so far. As Captain of Parkland 2005 Boys’ Red, I am proud that our team has made a significant contribution to the Club’s achievement.

I began playing competitive soccer at the U9 level. 6 years ago, I decided to join a young upstart team, the Parkland Soccer Club, because of the coaching and passion of the Athletic Director Roger Thomas. I could not be happier with my decision.

From an athletic perspective, my team was the Florida National Premier League Champion during my first year in high school. Prior to sophomore year the club was then added to the ECNL Florida Regional League. We accepted the challenge and became league champions. This past season we placed second in the Regional League and were finalists in the Jefferson Cup. I expect as Captain we will compete in the ECNL Boys Club Competition at the highest level this upcoming year.

On a personal note, my mental toughness and character would not have evolved to their current levels were it not for my involvement with the Club. I have been trained in discipline, responsibility, accountability, leadership and other core principles that will serve me well in sports and beyond. Underpinning all of this is my personal mentor and coach, Anthony Corbett, who was the starting center back on the Jamaican National Team. I have devoted countless hours, lost liters of sweat and sacrificed parts of my academic and social life to the Parkland Soccer Club. What I have gained is worth more than its weight in gold. I am committed to playing soccer and succeeding on the Collegiate level.
