Andres Bertorelli '24 Recruiting Profile

I was born in Venezuela, where I began to play soccer since I was 3 years old. At first, I started playing futsal with my school and a club team, this helped me to improve my technique and ability to play quick. When I got a bit older (around 2nd grade), I started playing 11v11, while also playing futsal in school and club. At first, I started playing as a midfielder and that’s how I got my composure and ability to be calm during difficult situations. In 2016, my family and I moved from Venezuela to the United States. I joined Juventus Academy, and my coach decided to try me as center back, and since then, that’s were I’ve been playing. I think that it was a good decision, as a center back, I have been able to help my club team Juventus – Buffon (2006) to win a lot of championships (including state) that have placed us in the Florida and National Top 5 Teams for a while now, and as a sophomore, I was part of the Varsity team of Belen Jesuit High Scholl when we conquered the State Championship in 2022. From now on, I will be playing in the MLS Next for Athetum FC. I’m real exited for having the opportunity to help my team in this very challenging stage.

My dream, since I was little, has always been to be a professional player, but first I want to be part of an outstanding NCAA Soccer Team, where I can, someway, contribute to win the National Championship. I want to do this for myself and also to give back to my parents for all the sacrifices they have made for me and my little brother. I believe that with hard work, dedication and love for this sport, I can do anything I put my mind into. I have tried to be a good leader on and off the field. I would do anything for my teammates and the people I love.
