My name is Mateo Rojas and I’m a 2024 Center Back from Miami, Florida. I currently play for Miami Killian Senior High School in the Varsity Boys Soccer. I wear number 2.
Academics are a top priority for me. I currently hold a 3.5 GPA. I excel in various subjects including Physical Education. In fact, I want to study Physical Therapy oriented to sports, or Sports and Entertainment Management.
My style of play is tactically organized, with good ball delivery, with firmness in defense. I am fast, good with both legs and with aerial play. I’m a versatile, trusted and impact player on my High School team. I play Center Back but I can also play any other position in the defense.
In the last two seasons I'm the team captain, and in the 2022-2023 season I was distinguished as MVP.
Since I was a kid, I have enjoyed playing soccer, for me it was always a way to forget about everything and be able to have fun on the field. Playing as a team has taught me to be part of a group or family, where each one fulfills an important function. Soccer also taught me the importance of the effort we make in training and giving my best in each game, regardless of the result.
Through college athletics, I desire to play at a high level, compete every day, make a significant difference on and off the field, and earn a college degree. After earning a degree in Physical Therapy, I would like to pursue an orientation in sports.
