Personal Statement
Aloha! I am a late bloomer to soccer but have found my niche in the goalkeeper position in the last couple of years. My physical strengths include my height, speed, quick hands and natural instinct. I am eager to learn whether in the classroom or soccer field and enjoy the continual building process.
My goals are to play soccer as a goalkeeper at a top-notch Division I college which enables me to study either architecture, engineering or computer science. My study skills and academic work ethic will able to help maintain me a healthy academic and athletic balance. I would also like to help the team in winning a National Championship.
I am a good candidate for your team because I am a flexible young man who comes from a global background and perspective due to my nationalities and travel. I have started taking college classes at the University of Hawaii system after finishing my 8th-grade year (summer school) and will be tri-lingual by my senior year as I am fluent in English and Hawaiian now. As a goalkeeper, I have been playing as one of the youngest members of my club team as we have had success on the Big Island of Hawaii and the state level.
Character-wise, I am naturally a quiet young man who likes to observe, an honest student with integrity and a kind friend. I follow directions well and follow through on requests and directions.
Mahalo nui loa for the opportunity to tell you about myself.
