Avery Godwin '22 Recruiting Profile

It seems like I’ve always been playing soccer, and even though I’ve played other sports at a high level, I feel like soccer is my true passion.  I love the physicality of soccer, jockeying for a 50 /50 ball, making a great pass or a run to receive a well placed ball. My speed and strength make me a tough match up for opposing defenses, and when I get the ball in space I have a knack for being able to score.  In my years with Chicago City Soccer Club, I led the team in scoring every season.  I was also the scoring leader for my JV team my Freshman year and for my the Varsity team during my Sophomore year.   I have recently joined the Chicago Fire travel club, and though the level of play has improved, I know that my foot skills and coachability will mean that I will continue to have success.  I am a left footed striker, who can be equally deadly with my right foot that can be a goal scorer for your program.
