I started playing soccer at a very young age after my dad introduced me to the game. It quickly became one of my favorite activities and something I invested a lot of time into. A couple of years after I began playing, I met a freestyle juggler from Iran named Yasin and began taking lessons from him. Yasin taught me how to juggle, advanced dribbling moves and routines, and helped me learn to use both of my feet. I've continued to juggle, work on my first touch and learn different freestyle tricks to advance my skill and learn to do more with the ball. I got into club soccer soon after and was so excited to play that I could barely sit still off the field.
When everything shut down because of covid, it was a very uncertain time, and there wasn't much soccer to play. Luckily just before the shutdown, I was introduced to an app called Techne. It is an app that gives activities to the player and keeps track of how much time you have worked on your skills. Another feature keeps track of how many days in a row you have done at least 10 minutes or more in a day. I lost a 60-day streak because I forgot about it one day. I was very upset with myself and remembered that feeling when restarting my streak and continuing to train on my own during quarantine. This time with the app increased my technical skills significantly, and I found myself confident on the ball in situations I would have never before. I recently passed day 1000 on the streak from when I started. The streak helps to motivate me to work on my skills, and I take pride in continuing to work with the app each day and getting better. This year I made the varsity team for my high school, Bloomington North, IN. I have made Indiana's state ODP team for the past three years and the year before the quarantine. I currently play for Alliance FC in Indiana. Reaching the professional levels of the game has been a dream of mine from a young age. The best way to get where I aspire is to play collegiate soccer so I can continue to learn and grow.
I have kept over a 4.0 GPA in high school this year through all my classes, which include four honors-level courses. I enjoy science, computer science, math, and jewelry right now, and I want to pursue higher education in one of those subjects.
