Luisdiego Salas '21 Recruiting Profile

Hi, I would like to introduce myself, my name is LuisDiego Salas. I am a senior in high school that has been playing soccer since I was five years old. I fell in love with the sport because of my grandfather was a professional soccer player for the Mexican national team, he went to the Olympics and I would like to be like him. Besides that I want to major in Business/Entrepreneurship in college. I hope to help others with their business and hopefully one day create my own business. Just like in soccer I love to help my teammates improve their skills. I was the motivator and encourager of my team. My team would follow my spirit, if I was staying focus and believed that we could still win then they would rally behind my motivation and we would not give up. I always loved being doubted, because I love challenges. If someone would tell me I could not do something. I loved to prove them wrong because I believe just about anything can be done with the right mindset and effort. Hard work is a big part in a lot of things, and never giving up is something I had to adopt on and off the field. Even in school I had to learn that getting good grades was important and it was a challenge. I have had to deal adversity and challenges my entire life with doctors as well, telling me I would never walk and probably never talk. But yet I'm one of the loudest players that was on the pitch at all times.  Especially since I was a captain of my high school team, I had to lead my team in the right direction and always keep my head up. Even through some tough losses. I have played varsity soccer since I was a freshman in high school and I've been through some highs and lows with my journey with soccer. But I can honestly say I have loved every single moment of it.
