My name is Luke Gamble. I attend Martinsville High School in Indiana. My goals for college are focusing on my degree and playing the sport that I love. I am currently undecided on my field of study; however, I am leaning towards teaching or physical therapy.
I was the only starting freshman on varsity for my high school. I may be undersized compared to others, but I play with a big heart and the mental toughness it takes to play defender. I feel that attaining my black belt in Tae Kwon Do has helped me play soccer. Physically, I am much stronger than opponents think I am. I have a great sense of balance which means it is difficult to push me off the ball or who I am defending. I am mentally stronger as I am always thinking ahead with or without the ball. My previous club coaches have stated on my evaluations that I am the smartest person on the field. They have written this because I see the play developing and have made quick, intuitive decisions about what to do to counter the attack.
