Personal Statement
I think something that makes me a great candidate to play soccer in college is my ability and experience with the game. I have been playing for as long as I can remember, whether at the park with my friends, on my neighborhood streets, or at my soccer club, CD Canillas, which I joined at an early age. Canillas is a feeder team for Real Madrid, and we have always played long and enjoyable 9-month seasons.
I have also attended several ID camps, one of them being at Providence College where I received an award for most progress shown over the week-long camp which shows that I am a very coachable player. I also attended a 3-day camp at the University of Notre Dame and another at Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville.
Regarding my Academic achievements I maintain a 3.6 GPA over the 3 years I have been in high school. Since I’m international, I have attended Freshman and Sophomore year at a Spanish school in Madrid and transferred in Junior year to a British school, also in Madrid, where I am doing A-Levels. Throughout high school I have also been completing a Dual Diploma program where I am working towards achieving an American High School Diploma. I have taken honors classes for the past 2 years and made the Honor Roll for my Freshman and Sophomore years.
My main goal for college is to study Mechanical Engineering at a school that allows me to further progress my soccer career and grow as a person so I can come closer to becoming my ideal player and self.
