Personal Statement
I started playing soccer when I was five and living in Mexico City. Since then I have played soccer in America and Spain, and I have been team captain in both countries. My goal is to play college soccer while I prepare for my career at university.
I am an American citizen, but I've lived overseas more than half of my life. I make friends quickly and I am very flexible, adapting to new and varied situations easily. I have attended international schools and I am currently taking several International Baccalaureate (IB) classes, which require a great deal of focus and time management. I feel I am well prepared to balance the rigors of university academic life and the challenges of playing college soccer. I speak English and Spanish, and I consider myself to be a dedicated, loyal and hard working team player. When I am told I can not do something, I make sure to prove that person wrong.
Living abroad has provided me with opportunities to play with other international women's soccer teams and I've learned to play soccer in different styles. This has broadened my personal playing skills. I hope to become a more successful leader in all aspects of my life.
