My name is Ethan Doud, and I am 5'10" 170lb center midfielder. I first walked on to an indoor soccer field when I was three-years-old. My parents will tell you I was knocked down a few times and ran off the field scared and in tears, but after a quick discussion with my coach, I reentered the game, started battling and scored four goals (against the big 5 and 6-year-olds). While I do not recall all the details, I do remember being extremely excited to play every weekend and know this is where my passion was born.
I've played club soccer since I was five years old and have competed in local leagues, traveled three hours North and South to play more challenging metro leagues, played MRL, NPL, and SuperY leagues. I've had the opportunity with my club teams to compete in state finals, regional events, and even in the Super Y National Finals. I've been fortunate enough to start all varsity high school games on one of the most competitive high school teams in the state. I have also participated in wrestling and baseball since I was 5 years old. I have three varsity letters in wrestling and have been a State Champion, World Series Champion and a World Series MVP in baseball. With that being said, soccer is my passion and following my Junior season of wrestling I will dedicate all of my time to soccer.
My coaches will tell you I have solid speed, considerable strength, outstanding technical abilities, and incredible tactical vision/ability. They will tell you I understand the value of teamwork, am committed to team processes and that I demonstrate strong leadership skills both on and off the field. My preferred style of play relies heavily on possession and believe the ball has to constantly and consistently move across and through the pitch. I am a strong physical player who can move the ball, move myself, and make strong attacking plays with a team and individually.
Soccer is truly the sport I love to play, and I have a strong desire to play at the next level. I am looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character, work ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your program.
