Declan Cashon-Rap...Personal Statement
I am a student-athlete in the class of 2022 at Atherton High School (Louisville, KY). I am looking for a school with a strong soccer program and strong academics.
I have played soccer since I was 3 years old and club since I was 9. I like to play the #6 and #8, but I can also play centerback. I am a decisive, physically aggressive player. At the #6, I insert myself into play at the right time, control the game through the midfield, and distribute the ball forward. I read the game well. Having spent time at multiple positions, including at GK, I see plays developing early and anticipate well. I am a versatile player who has received awards for my offensive and defensive play. I am a team player and try to instill a positive team mindset. I have been named captain of my club and high school teams.
I am enrolled in college level classes and engineering electives. I currently have a 4.0 GPA (weighted) and scored a 34 (99th percentile) on the ACT. I am interested in pursuing Computer Science or Engineering in college.
