Zachary Zemmels '21 Recruiting Profile

First and foremost, I am in love with "the Beautiful Game." My life runs on soccer, and it drives me to be a better person both on and off the field. My passion and emotions toward the game fuel me to be the hardest worker on the field at all times, and I believe that is my trademark. To add to this, I have played in all different atmospheres in many different countries, facing adversity head on. My defensive positioning, timing, and deep playmaking ability have all grown because of this. Despite not coming from a family with the economic resources to get me the best facilities and coaches, I have worked hard in my backyard for years on my own finding drills on YouTube and Instagram. This is how I developed an excellent ability to make quick, sharp touches and passes. I have worked a weekend job at a local diner all through high school, balancing work, soccer, and school with a fine work ethic. This year, I got a new job coaching the younger academy teams with the New Orleans Jesters and underprivileged local kids with 18th Ward Sports. Giving back to my soccer community and helping others grow their game is a great gift, and I hope to be able to do more of that in the future. All of my determination, discipline, and motivation that outranks others comes from the fact that my heart is in my play and my actions. With this as my attitude, I make a point to get better all the time while helping my teammates do the same. I have faith that I can do the same at the collegiate level, including academically.
