Personal Statement

I am fully dedicated to playing soccer at the highest level while obtaining my degree. I will make an excellent addition to your program because I am a team player that plays at a very high level, striving to make both myself and my teammates succeed.  Soccer has been my primary sport since age 8. Starting at that time I first played on the highest-level team of a well-established Baltimore club (Pipeline) from ages 8 through 15, before moving to the Development Academy (DA) Baltimore Armour team.  Prior to joining Armour I was also a member of the Olympic Development Program  (ODP) Maryland State Team for several years.  During my freshman year of high school, I was Captain of my school team and was awarded the Most Valuable Player Award.  During my Sophomore year, I focused exclusively on my DA team and did not play for my high school. During my junior year in high school I played varsity starting many games.  Currently, to maximize my playing time I play for the Baltimore Armour Pre-Academy team and have rejoined the Maryland State ODP team. In my early years I was a left back (#3), but recently I have moved forward as an attacking midfielder (#10), as a starter for both teams. My strengths include an extraordinary level of dedication, highly accurate passing, left foot dominance, my ability to see the field as a whole, and the capacity to understand  how the play will develop before it happens.  From a training standpoint, my dedication, work ethic and  love for the game all provide me with a competitive edge.  I listen to my coaches and appreciate that there is always more to learn. I am different from other recruits because, as I mentioned,  I am a 'team first' player - when my team succeeds, I succeed.  I realize that obtaining a degree and playing for a top level team will be challenging logistically, but through my organizations skills, dedication and my will to win, I will succeed.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
