John Alcorn III '22 Recruiting Profile

Hello coaches! I'm John Alcorn, a 6' Center Back in the Class of '22. I attend Winters Mill HS where I started every Varsity game Freshman year thru Junior year.  I'm a determined worker on the field with the drive and will power to achieve more than greatness. While not on the field, I get good grades in the classroom, assuring I will always be academically eligible to play. Although experience can help me grow as a player, I pride myself on being teachable with a willingness to listen to any advice that can help improve my mental/physical game.  I always ask questions when I feel I'm missing something that cannot only better me, but also my team's outcome. You can count on me to be a leader on and off the field, to demonstrate good character and be there for the ones who need help. I am the first on the field and the last one off, whether it's a practice or a game. I play my heart out every minute and I’m the first to a fallen teammate, helping them when they need it. You can rest-assured that if you need me to make the tough, gritty plays on the field that I will do what is asked of me.  I pride myself on never backing down from a ball in the air and enjoy assists just as much as goals. I believe in a team-first mindset with the common goal to do my part and more. I received All-County Honorable Mention my Freshman year, but to me that was just a stepping stone to work harder at each practice. The following season I earned 2nd Team All-County as a Sophomore and I was chosen as Team Captain. During my Junior season, I held the role of Team Captain for a 2nd year, while gaining my 1st Team All-County. On my Club Team I am a Team Captain as well.  I pride myself on leadership and the ability to motivate teammates and will continue to show growth in all aspects of the game. I look forward to making a big impact on my future team and am thankful for every minute I play.
