I started playing soccer when I was 5 years old. I joined a travel team when I was 8. We have played teams from across the Baltimore, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania, as well as more distant states.
Some of my best friends are my teammates. I like that about team sports, rather than individual sports. I love playing with my friends.
I really like playing in the games. Sometimes before a big game I get nervous, but that goes away after the start. The games I like the best are against other teams with really good players. The challenge gives me extra energy.
I enjoy watching games on TV and playing video games on FIFA. But playing is what I love.
Now in my freshman year I will be starting outside defender on the Winters Mill varsity team. My goal is to play college ball at the highest level I can get to. If I am lucky enough maybe I can play in the pro’s.
Good sportsmanship on the field is important to me. I like to play hard and physically in games, but don’t like hurting other guys. I get really irritated when I see guys intentionally taking down other players.
Academics is really important. I need to work hard for my grades, and school is a challenge. Soccer helps me by giving me a physical outlet and helping me to concentrate on school work.
Family is also important for me. The support they give me has gotten me as far as I have.
