Personal Statement

My name is Keegan Maxwell and I've been playing soccer since I was 3. Whether it was for a town team or club team I've always enjoyed playing and watching the sport. It is one of my dreams to play soccer in college and I do everything I can to make it possible. I would consider myself a smart player who is very good at reading the game and using my strengths. I have a good shot and am very fast. I find myself making a lot of runs and often blowing past the defender. I have been my club team captain for two years and try to be a leader for my team and teammates by supporting everyone and doing my best to make everyone the best player and person they can be. This carries over to my academics. I work well with other people in groups and am not afraid to voice an opinion. I am strong in school and always get A's. I enjoy school and do my best to make the most of my opportunities everyday. In life I am introverted but don't mind trying new things. I am friendly and try to be the best person I can be. I believe in kindness, loyalty and taking responsibility. However I understand everyone makes mistakes and the best thing to do is to learn from them. Thank you for taking an interest in me and my profile. I am happy to talk or answer any questions at any time.

  • Northeast Sub Regional matches - Albany, NY Game 1: MA ODP vs. Eastern NY, 0-2 loss. I mainly played striker and right wing, making runs in behind and putting good crosses into the box. Area of improvement is working on selling my turns better to throw the defender off. Game 2: MA ODP vs. CT ODP, 5-1 win, I had 1 assist. I played right wing but also a little bit of right back. At right wing I was able to play good through balls in even earning us a goal. At right back I did well getting wide to receive the ball and keep possession. Area for improvement is to relax when I have the ball and to not rush my decisions. Friendly: MA ODP vs. NH ODP, 1-2 loss, I had 1 assist. In this game I played striker, making many threatening runs in behind. I also did well to follow my shots and I was lucky enough to get an assist off of a goalkeeper error. Area for improvement is to hold my runs in behind and giving myself a good opportunity.
  • 2023 SFC (2008 Boys Blue)
  • League play: Game 1: SFC vs. Aztec, 5-0 win, I had 2 goals and 1 assist. I had good crosses and supported an efficient attack. Area for development is to better convert scoring opportunities. Games 2 and 3 missed due to Barcelona trip with my ODP team. Game 4: SFC vs. FC Stars, 4-0 win, I had 1 goal. This was a matchup with one of the best teams in our group. I mainly played right back because our starter was out. Played well on defense and no goals allowed. When I played on the wing I put in good crosses and had a couple of really close chances that went just wide. Area for improvement is 1v1 defending and putting the final touch on my finishing. Game 5: SFC vs. Seacoast United, 1-1 tie. The game was very close even though we had almost all possession. In this game I once again played half the game at right back to cover one of their best attackers. I stopped him one on one and helped keep possession. On attack I was able to beat my defender 1 on 1, putting great crosses into the box. Area from improvement is getting into more scoring opportunities by creating and moving into space. Game 6: SFC vs. NEFC, 5-1 win, I had 1 goal. In this game we once again kept possession well and, in turn, created scoring chances and goals. I played mainly right wing and was able to put in really nice crosses even earning myself a goal. When I played right back I was able to put balls in over the top and helped keep possession. Area for improvement is finishing my chances when I get them as I had a couple of shots the went wide. Game 7: SFC vs. Juventus, 3-0 win, I had 2 assists. I had great passes over the top, earning us 2 goals. I also did well 1 on 1 and beating my defender to put in threatening crosses. Area for improvement is to get into the game quicker and look for entry balls. Finished the season with 6 wins and 1 tie, winning the division.

  • 3 games, no finals -------- Game 1: SFC vs. Juventus, 3-0 win, I had 1 goal. I felt like I attacked well and was physical and aggressive. Area for development is tightening up my passes to avoid turnovers. --------- Game 2: SFC vs. Southeast SC 2008, 2-2 tie, I had 1 goal. I felt like I contributed to good combinations to build up our attacks. Area for development is maintaining physicality in the air against a bigger center back. ---------- Game 3: SFC vs. New England Surf State Navy 2008, 1-3 loss. I had good 1v1 success and created good attacks. Area for development is scanning as ball is coming to me to plan next move.
  • Camp/Event
  • State Cup
  • Game 1: SFC vs. Valeo Futbol 2008 Revolution, 2-0 win. I had many good crosses from the wing that were well placed, just not converted; also good 1v1 success. Area for development is to keep passes sharp and create threatining opportunities.
