Nilsen Lopes '25 Recruiting Profile

Soccer has been the center of my life since I was a child in my home country, Cape Verde. My father was a talented player, so he used to bring me to the field when I was young to teach me the fundamentals and that is what sparked my love for the game. Club athletics have not been accessible to me but I have dedicated hours of my own time to refine my skills, whether that is at the field or even just in my garage. I moved to America four years ago to explore better opportunities and I have worked hard ever since both athletically and academically. Learning a new language and becoming acclimated to a new culture was not easy, especially during Covid-19, but I am determined to get a good education after high school and to pursue a career in soccer. I am a team player who is committed to not just my own improvement and success but my team's as well. I hope to earn scholarships so that I can achieve my goal which to attend a great college where I can play the sport I have so much love for.
