Personal Statement

My name is Drew Burns, and I have been playing soccer my entire life, which has developed a strong love and passion for the game. Not only do I have a passion for the game, but I strive to be well rounded in all areas of my life. I would love the opportunity to play soccer, receive an education, and become part of a tightly nit community at the collegiate level, because it has been a lifelong dream of mine. Typically, I play attacking wing, but I am highly knowledgeable about the game as many of my coaches have said, and I can adapt to many different positions. I am a very technically skilled player that loves to be creative. I am a pass first player, but I am not afraid to dribble and shoot when given the opportunity. I am especially hardworking and I never give up no matter what obstacles are in my way. Competitiveness has always been a huge part of me, and I will do anything in my power to win. That being said, I am far from selfish and will always put the team and coaches needs before mine. I try and make others around me better with a positive attitude, limitless work ethic, and leading by example. I make sure to balance soccer, school, and extracurricular activities evenly, while maintaining an A- average in all of my classes. I enjoy intense soccer environments, and I strive to play at the highest level possible.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
