Grant Botha '21 Recruiting Profile

The highlight of my high school varsity career thus far has been scoring a brace in a 2-0 win against Big North Conference opponents Traverse City Central, our first victory against Traverse City in over a decade. Soccer has taught me a great deal about discipline, hard work, commitment and sacrifice. Having held leadership responsibilities at various levels including captaining a U-19 side at the age of 14, I have learned to lead my teammates by example. I strive for excellence in all that I do both athletically and academically.

I play the game with natural instinct, an asset that few possess and which cannot be taught. I am best known for my vision and creativity, creating space for myself and my teammates. Midfield maestro Andrea Pirlo said it best, "Football is played with the head. Your feet are just the tools."
