Preston McLean '23 Recruiting Profile

     My name is Preston McLean,  I am 6'1 and a hardworking central and outside midfielder from Walled Lake, MI. I will graduate in the class of 2023. I have 3 years of state ODP experience and I am currently on the ODP state team. I’m truly dedicated to soccer. My most important accomplishments were being selected for soccer teams such as the North American Rush Academy Tournament Team, Rush Select, and the being on the Regional ODP team. I am captain of my club team and I have played at the varsity level since freshman year. I aim to be the first to the field and one of the last to leave. Staying after training for a proper a cool down is very important to me, it optimizes my recovery time so I am ready for my next training session.

     Continuing to play soccer as long as possible at a high competitive level is a goal of mine. Another goal is to make an impact and to play whatever role the team needs. At the end of the day, my goal is to have made a difference and tried my hardest. This makes me feel like I am not only bettering myself but my fellow teammates.

     Ideally, I would like to be at a larger size school with a great “college town” atmosphere, within a few hours of the Metro Detroit area. Financial assistance is going to be very important to me in the college selection process. In closing, I would like to be at a program where I could make a big contribution early in my career.
