I am a versatile mid field player and can play both attacking and defensive roles well. I joined Sporting Kansas City Academy in 2016 as a U14 player and have been a consistent player with the Academy, which previously played in the DA and now MLS Next, from U14 to the current season with the U19 team. The rigorous environment has taught me the value of discipline, work ethic, and commitment. I have also learned to face and overcome adversity in the last 5 years which has been vital to my success. I believe I read and understand the game very well. I am a strong communicator and leader on the field and I see these qualities as unique attributes that allow me to affect the game with more than just my technical and athletic abilities. I enjoy the relationships I have built with both the players and the staff over the years and though I will miss the group as a whole I am excited to move onto my next chapter as a collegiate student athlete.
I am currently a Junior at Rockhurst High School which is an all boys Jesuit College Preparatory school. I have always been a strong student and value my academic life and education. I believe my time with the Academy along with my scrupulous academic environment have given me the opportunity to develop exceptional time management skills. I have been diligent with my time and have been able to balance both my academic expectations and my athletic training and have had the fortuity to achieve success in both areas.
I am the oldest of 4 kids, my mom is a pediatrician and my dad is a former collegiate soccer player turned soccer coach who immigrated from Scotland. So, having Scottish heritage, playing soccer truly runs in my blood! My brothers both play in the Sporting Kansas City Academy system and my sister is a competitive cheerleader. Being part of a large and busy family has given me the opportunity to learn the values of teamwork, patience, compassion, compromise, encouragement and cooperation, which are characteristics I feel I bring with me to the team environment.
I am a focused and goal oriented person and I know I will be an asset to the college soccer program I join. Teddy Roosevelt said " Far and away the best prize that life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing". I am excited to pursue the next step in my soccer journey and to have the chance to work hard at a work worth doing.
