Personal Statement
I feel like I was born to play soccer. I am the youngest of 4 siblings and have learned to be a part of a team naturally as a way of life. In my house you had to learn to be selfless and share in order to get along and not fight. It’s the same with soccer. It’s a team sport and it requires team play for success. I remember being pulled aside over the years and being told I have natural talent, ability and an understanding of the game that most kids don’t. But when I was younger I didn’t really understand what they were telling me. Now that I’m in high school, more mature and a little bit older I believe in what my coaches and trainers have been telling me. They believe I have what it takes to compete on the college level. My coaches and trainers constantly tell me I am a difference maker on the field and that I have a positive impact on every game. Then suddenly it all just clicked. I realized that players I played with or against over the years are now playing in college and while they are talented and dedicated players, I know I am as good as they are if not better. This is why I now believe in myself. I have the desire to compete and play college level soccer after high school. I have the drive and the ability to do this. I feel like these are all reasons I am unique and a great candidate for a college soccer program.
