Jean Paul Solano '22 Recruiting Profile

Ever since I was born, I would always keep a ball at my foot. Constantly kicking a ball in my own home, getting yelled at by my mom numerous times. Though, I would shrug these words off because soccer is my passion. I was always interested in soccer, whether it was playing it or watching it whenever it came on TV.  No matter where I go in life, I will always carry that love for it with me. At started playing in a recreational league at 4 years old and as time went on, it became more and more serious. I began to play club when I turned 8 years old and haven't stopped since. Luckily in this past year, I have been blessed with the opportunity to tryout with the U17 Colombian National Team as well as compete in my 3rd national tournament in Colombia. In all these years of playing I've learned that nothing comes easy to anyone, it's truly about how hard you worked. I'm glad I've had the privilege of having this sport teach me this. With that being said, I understand it's not an easy process to get into any college and I'm willing to work as hard as I have to in order to achieve that goal. I would like to play soccer at any collegiate level, as that would be a huge accomplishment in itself. It's something I've dedicated my entire life to, so it would be nice to play at the next level as a reward for all of the time and work I've put in. I would like to compete at a high level, while being able to learn at a school with strong academics. I believe I would be a strong candidate in any team due to my flexibility on the field. I'm able to play in multiple positions and play to the best of my abilities.
