I fell in love with the beautiful game of soccer at the age of 4. Since Preschool, my love for the game has grown. I've come to know many things about myself through my years playing. I realized that I have a great work ethic, I'm quite a smart player and learn new concepts quickly, and that I can go far in this sport. Soccer also made me realize that I could do more outside of just sports. I'm apart of my school's Science Team (physics), which will ultimately help me with my future academic goals towards becoming an Engineer. I also have been volunteering at my local hospital for 2 years now. I realized being a "team player" can be on and off the field.
One of the best things to happen to me as a result of soccer happened in my junior year. It was a big varsity soccer matchup between our rivals No. 3 ranked Pingry. In this game, I had scored a game-winner in double overtime to not only won us the game but the conference as well. The biggest take away from this game was that I should believe in myself more. My coach told me something after the game that I will never forget, " You need to believe in yourself more Adam." I had always had a little issue with self-confidence and after that game, it all went away. I became more dominant on the field and more self-confident in my studies and academics.
