My name is Gerald and I have been playing since the age of 7. I have been told time and time again to consider playing at the college level not only because of my skill but also because of my academic achievements and strong personality. I believe the ideal candidate for any team must be willing to adapt to their surroundings. If the team is going through a particular hard period then the players must show grit and spirit to lift themselves out of it. I believe I demonstrate much of this and more. I, being a goalkeeper, look at myself as a leader to the rest of the team. I talk to them and help make plays from the back. My vantage of being able to see everything allows me to command the team and build plays. The experiences of being the worst team in the league to then becoming an unbeaten team have helped me grow mentally strong. They have showed me that no matter how down and how much you're hurt you can still push yourself to be better because eventually good will come. Personally, I believe I have the gift of easily being able to connect to people. I am able to build trust and respect which are needed in a team game. I am well disciplined towards others as long as I am respected. In terms of academics, I have had the privilege to study in great schools and be part of the top ranked students in each school I have attended. I have been in honors and superintendent classes, I have taken regents earlier and most recently ranked top 20 in academics in my current highschool. All of this allows me to be able to realisticlly draw and pursue my dream. My dream is to use soccer to be able to lift myself through college and study medicine, following this I would like to join the army and sign as a field medic. Going out and helping people in need is what I aspire to do whether it be through a simple vaccine or something greater. I believe I am capable of bringing a special something to whichever team I will belong to. I hope you can consider me as your next player between the sticks. Thank you and I aspire and look forward to working with any coach and any school willing to accept me.
